This month, on Sunday the 13th, we finished our second year in business and started year three. During interviews with reporters this month, Scott has commented that Clip-n-Seal has been a tremendous success. He also commented that, “we’re still figuring out the best way to reach the mass market, but with all the positive customer comments and unusual industrial uses, we know we’re on the right track.”
He’s right and I’m thankful for the past two years.
We published a Freshness Guide that lists tips from our friends and customers on how to keep food fresh. Do you have a tip to add to the Freshness Guide? Send it and we'll publish it.
A Forrestor Report on blogging, written by Charlene Li, includes Clip-n-Seal and notes how we effectively blog about the broad range of Clip-n-Seal uses.
There's also a wiki related to the report that includes several other businesses that blog.
Continuing the discussion on business blogging, a Business Logs post notes that it's about the product, not the blog. Agreed. When interviewed about blogging, we always make sure to note that blogging is an extension of what we do, that it's about Clip-n-Seal.
A gardener from California contacted us to inquire about sealing his fertiizer bags. We said, "no problem" and an order is on the way. Add that to the broad range of uses for Clip-n-Seal.
The Learning Blogger CD-ROM has been released and Clip-n-Seal is included in the “what’s a blog, really?” section as a good example of a business blog.
It’s perfect for businesses interested in blogging and want to try it out. If you're wondering what this blogging thing is all about, the CD-ROM should answer your questions.
The news about our design contest and work on new products is in the blogosphere. 37 Signals, Scoble, and more have posted and contest entries are rolling in.
We're working on a concept blog to capture the contest ideas and blog our focus on industrial applications. That'll be up this week. We also set up a page for the press.
If you arrived here from the blogosphere, thanks for visiting and your interest. Please contact us with your questions and if you decide to purchase Clip-n-Seal, we hope you enjoy our product.
If you have no idea what the blogosphere is, check this definition and you can learn more about blogging for business at the Blog Business Summit early next year. We'll be there talking about how we blog Clip-n-Seal.
We received our manufacturers copy of DesignAid today and it's cool. As we posted previously, DesignAid included us in their November issue and we've been working on the related contest, blog posts, and materials for weeks leading up to it. Having the hard copy gave us that sense of accomplishment. DesignAid also contributed to our decision to focus on industrial markets. Byron writes about that decision in the Textura Design blog.
In a new design contest related to the Inventables DesignAid, Clip-n-Seal and ID Fuel have partnered on BonFire #3: Clip-n-Seal It! Not everyone has access to the DesignAid, it's a subscription-based service, so we teamed with ID Fuel to offer Clip-n-Seal samples, prizes, and see what new closure concepts industrial designers can develop. Press Release (PDF)
As a lead in to the design contest, ID Fuel interviewed us at length about how we brought Clip-n-Seal to market. We talk about 2 years of hard work and what's next for us.
The November issue of Inventables DesignAid features Clip-n-Seal. DesignAid is a hands-on magazine packaged with unique materials and technologies to help spark creative new product ideas. DesignAid shipped last week to its subscribers. Getting our product in the hands of engineers and designers in Fortune 500 companies is fantastic and supports our efforts to expand our industrial market. For more on Clip-n-Seal and Inventables, see the related press release.
